OBS

OBS (Open Broadcaster Software) is free and open source software for video recording and live streaming. Stream to Twitch, YouTube and many other providers or record your own videos with high quality H264 / AAC encoding.

Shots Fired can be used to control when a source or filter is visible and whether to switch to a scene.

Scenes

Press a scene name to load the sources that are attached to it.

If a scene has filters associated to it, an icon next to the scene name will show. Pressing the icon will show each filter that can have its state changed. When the eye is solid the filter will be applied. When the eye has a strike-through , it will not be applied.

Switching to a scene

The toggle next to the scene name controls whether Shots Fired will instruct OBS to switch to the scene or not.

If the toggle is off , OBS will not change scenes. This is useful in the context of nested scenes where you may wish to affect the visibility of certain source items, but not actually change to the scene itself.

If the toggle is on , OBS will change to the scene first.

Sources

Source management

The toggle next to the source name controls whether Shots Fired will apply your preferences over the current source state.

If the toggle is off , Shots Fired will not instruct OBS to change the source or source filter visibility. Whatever the state of the source is in prior to this action being applied, will continue to be the state of the source following.

If the toggle is on , Shots Fired will instruct OBS to change when the action is triggered.

Controlling source visibility

When the eye is solid the source will be shown. When the eye has a strike-through , it will not be shown.

The visibility change can be fine-tuned in the following ways:

Delay

Controls the number of milliseconds from when the action is executed to the time when the visibility is changed.

Duration

Controls the number of milliseconds the source remains visible (or hidden) before reverting to the opposite state.

If the duration is set to 0, Shots Fired will not instruct OBS to revert to the opposite visibility and the source will remain in the selected state until it is changed later.

Controlling filter visibility

If a source has filters associated to it, an icon next to the source name will show. Pressing the icon will show each filter that can have its state changed. When the eye is solid the filter will be applied. When the eye has a strike-through , it will not be applied.
